Anyone who receives a residence permit starts with the compulsory integration.
From 2022, the municipality supports the newcomers with their integration. The Municipality of Zaanstad has set up a Municipal Integration Team for this purpose. The municipality works with a so-called continuous line: from sheltering to integration.
The Civic Integration Counsellor guides the newcomer. To find a work, to follow an education and to arrange an appropriate language course. The Municipal Integration Team also monitors the progress of the integration.
