What do I do if I am sick?

Are you ill? Then you get help.

In the Netherlands you get a general practitioner (GP) and a dentist. You have to take out insurance for that. Dutch Refugee Council employees can help you to arrange this.

Are you ill? Or are you unhappy?

Call your general practitioner (GP). Make an appointment. Your doctor will help you. It is free and confidential. Are you very sick? Then the GP will send you to the hospital.

Is it after 5pm or Saturday or Sunday. And you can't wait until the next day?
Then call the General Practice Service (Huisartsenpost). Phone number is: 075 – 653 3000.

Is there a danger of life? Call 112 and request an ambulance.

Can you still travel to the hospital yourself? Then go to the hospital.
